ALWAYS BENCH TEST BEFORE INSTALLING! It is highly recommended that you temporarily wire your system in a controlled environment before you install your cameras in their permanent location. Once you have confirmed that you have the basic setup complete, then you can proceed to installation.
This wiring guide shows you how to wire your H-Series IP camera to the PoE switch in the back of your NVR. If you are wiring your camera to a separate PoE switch, click here. If you are wiring your camera to a non-PoE switch or directly to a router, click here.
Set up your NVR
Plug your NVR into a power outlet with the power cord. Connect the NVR to your Router via an Ethernet cable. Add a monitor via HDMI or VGA. Turn your NVR on and complete the Wizard setup.
Connect your camera to the PoE switch in the back of the NVR with an Ethernet cable.
If you have an H-Series NVR, your setup is finished. Enjoy instant video via Plug-n-Play. If you have a third party NVR, further configuration is necessary, as you will have to add the camera to your NVR via the ONVIF protocol.
